SO, driving into town this morning to get some 2" tubing bent, my check engine light came on(38,185 miles). According to my Scangauge, its S0333, which I looked up to be a knock sensor malfunction. I talked to a local auto repair guy, he said its most likely due to corrosion due to the sensor being located below the intake manifold. So, is this something that will be covered under warranty? Something I should try to fix myself? I'm driving the truck 5 1/2hrs tomorrow, then back on monday but the mechanic said i've got nothing to worry about, it'll be fine for the trip....

yeah, when I mentioned it to the mechanic he said it wouldnt be covered under the warranty but I was thinking it would. My dad was thinking that if nothing else, it should fall under the emissions control and they should fix it as well.

In the mean time, I definitely notice the truck running differently.... It sounds a tad different under load, doesnt have as much power, and doesnt accelerate nearly like it usually does. :(

so.... finally get the truck into the dealer to have it checked out.... looks like a rodent chewed the wiring to the sensor and a estimate to fix (if the wiring can be fixed) is $350. :goingcrazy:

And to add to my previous post about the symptoms.... gas mileage went from 16-19mpg before, to 12.5-15mpg with the light on. 4cly power and v8 gas mileage... great
