Awesome! Now if you can just keep getting 26 MPG. What was your average speed? Cruise Control?

I just went the speed limit (70mph) and I used the cruise control. I think it helps that there weren't that many hills between Temple and Houston. Between Temple and Abilene there are so many, I believe that is what really kills your mileage.

I agree, but only at highway speeds. My Tacoma actually gets better mileage in the hills around North San Antonio, New Braunfels, and Austin at about 55 - 60 MPH...

![]() My mother was actually raised in Austin before my grandfather took a job with the Navy as a photographer. He got transfered to New Orleans shortly after that. That's not all bad. She met my dad there! Guess where I was born...

I've been driving my new '07 Access PreRunner V-6 for a few weeks and am getting around 22 mpg. Now, about 60-70 % of the driving is at about 50-55 mph highway driving, optimal gas mileage speed I'd guess.
The truck is GREAT- a big improvement over the '03 4-dr PreRunner I had. |

Just checked mine slowed down to 60 on the highway and under 3000 rpm around town 80 percent highway resulting in a whopping 22.1 mpg! 2007 d-cab 4x4 v-6 5000 miles

I have a 2.7 5speed 4x4 and I get about 24 mpg. About 50% freeway, 50% city driveing. I get on it every so often, but much of the time I just cruiz.

Well my mpg is getting a little better. It started at 17.5 when I bought the truck and now I’m getting around 19.75 mpg at 3900 miles. That’s improvement, not yet in the range of 23 – 28, but so far so good. I was told it should continue to improve until I reach 5000 miles.

I still miss the 28mpg I was getting out of my 22RE, and that was driving it like a complete mad man (it was a 5 speed, I can't help it.)
That being said, when this one is paid off, I will be getting a v6 4x4. Maybe even a D4D if they are available by then!

New 07' Tacoma V6 4x4 getting 16.1
I just purchased my 07' Tacoma last week and after 2 fill-ups I am only averaging 16.1MPG. I drive really light on the gas and between my Wife and I we get 27.5-28.5 in our highlander hybrid (upper end of milege for this vehicle). I am guessing it will improve after break-in period but I also wonder if the large tread BF Goodrich tires are taking 1-2MPG off my mileage. Any suggestions?
