ABS noise?

Hey there, I've owned my Tacoma for about six months now and love it but have a question: When I brake hard or hit a solid bump a rev-type noise goes off. The rpms are unaffected, but I've never owned a truck with anti-lock brakes so I'm guessing it might be the brake pump (?) going off? Thanks for your time.

yep, thats the highly intrusive ABS system kicking in.

 

My 2005 'grawled' at me a lot, off road or wet pavement braking. So far my 2010 has not... nor did my 2001!

 

phew! good to know. thanks a lot fellas. as much as i love my tacoma i still miss my ol' 94 4x4. No bells or whistles and was built like a tank.
