I have a 2010 Taco, and was just stuck in the driveway so decided to use the rear diff lock. Now the lock will not turn off. Any suggestions?

This is simplest things first, but I have to take mine out of 4lo, then drive forward 10 or 20 feet before it will unlock. sometimes you have to turn too.

Just move a few feet forward and back, push the button again... It is just binding from a turn in the wheels... If the light is blinking, you are out... If the light is solid, you are still locked. Same in L4, but you need to be in Neutral (not park) to disengage from L4 to H4.... IF you are a 4WD Off Road Tacoma.

I must be doing something wrong b/c it keeps sticking. If I am in L4, and turn on the diff lock, then drive I cannot get it out. I stop the vehicle, put it in neutral, hit the button to unlock it, and nothing happens.

I was debating if I should take it back and have the dealer look at it. To me it seems like it is having issues. I'm not sure though.

Of course take it back... all we can do is tell you what works for us.

The first few times I used mine it was difficult to get it to lock in and unlock. Once it took five minutes or so of rocking and turning while moving forward and backwards to get it to unlock. Now it pops in and out like a champ.:)

I had the this problem when I first had my taco. Make sure you figure out whether the switch is turned on or off. I just go 4lo to n, then to 4hi, then hit the switch, back into d, drive forward and backward, and cut the wheel a bit from one side to the other. Should work.

Oddly enough, moving the steering wheel from side to side seems to solve the issue for the most part.

    Thanks.
