It was a clean install, all wires were soldered and taped. I currently have the door panel off to install some door speakers. I had to run to the store and noticed that the airbag light is on. What did I do during the installation process to make the airbag light come on?

Removing the driver's seat wouldn't have any relation to an airbag light on a pre-2005 Taco.

Odds are the stereo installation work screwed with some of the wiring / connections behind the lower center dash, where the SRS controller (and a lot of the central SRS wiring) is located.

If you tapped into a wire for illumination without knowing exactly what it was and / or how the Taco dimmer system is laid out, that would be a likely culprit for electrical weirdness like this.

Did you get this figured out, and if so what was it?

If the on/off switch is unplugged, the SRS computer sesnes a problem, and will turn on the light. It thinks there is an open circuit in the system.

Nice thing about airbags? They self check, so the truck will tell you if the problem is fixed or not. If the light goes off, you're good to go.
