Yes, it's a CST clearance kit. I got it shortly after your intial writeup. I just went over to their Houston shop and picked up the kit... saved even more on shipping. Thanks again for posting your writeup. Without it, I don't think I ever would have attacked that project.

If anyone is wondering, it probably took me 7-8 hours to do the seats, not counting breaks. I just brought the seats into my living room and worked on them while watching a baseball game on TV. :D Too damn hot to work outside during the summer in Houston.

I am almost done with my leather install! but I do have the fold flat seat - any idea how to remove the plastic backing on it?

I recall that being kind of troublesome. I think I just pryed it off from the bottom. I might have broken one of the tabs that hold it on at the bottom, but there was still enough left to hold it in when I popped it back together.

Here is the best pic I can find (part #10):

    seat_d3957de3187e293a03d2327ddb213e19c844b26a.gif

There are 3 plastic rivet/clips along the bottom, then two bigger "hooks" that hook in towards the top. Carefully pop the bottom three clips free...I think the clips actually hook in from the bottom, so you need to push the whole panel upward about 1/2" or so to unhook them. Once the bottom is loose, slide the whole panel downward and it should come off.

Hmm...? Why does all this epic shit come up when I has no money! I will start having dineros in a few weeks though, and this will be one of my early things. A single drop of water looks like someone pissed all over the seats!

Question about those two vertical metal "downrods" as you refer to them -- are the upper ends of those rods supposed to be hooked underneath (behind) the horizontal metal cross rod that is inside the seat foam (hard to explain which cross rod I'm talking about, and unf I don't have a pic -- but it's in the seat back ABOVE the cross rod that you hog clip the horizontal flap to)?

I couldn't for the life of me get those rods aimed behind that cross rod inside the seat foam, so I just left them not hooked behind that cross rod, and my seats are looking awfully wrinkly/baggy ... so I'm wondering if it's because those vertical rods aren't doing all the work that they really should be doing to tighten up the leather.

My back seats are also super wrinkly / puckery, like ridiculously so.

They have to go under the upper cross bar.
Post some picks of your wrinkled rear seats...
Let's see how bad they are...

Check out the Katzkin group buy thread in the group buy forum. Depending on what you are after, you can get one of the closeout kits that are on clearance for as cheap as $300, or you can get highly customized full leather for $825-$1000. Not including installation.

yep, pull stright up on the bottom hard as you can, it's two plastic pieces that hold on everything like your door panel, etc... DO NOT PULL ON THE TOP, you'll see why once you've pulled it off
