Hi i have a 2003 pre runner Toyota Tacoma. I'm having this problem where my car will start, runs fine but i cannot get the transmission out of park (the shifter) I think its either the button will not go all the way down or the brake that connects the shifter and the tranny wont engage? I'm not too sure i just cant get my truck out of park. i would appreciate any/all suggestions / input. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my post.

You can remove a little cover on your shifter cover and manually pull the shift lock override lever to allow the shifter to come out of Park.

See page 244 in the 2003 Owners Manual.
