I just bought a new Taco and the air conditioner won't turn off. The button is lit up and won't turn off when I push it.

Also the Rec button turns on when I start the truck. It, however, will turn off.

I have a service appt but I wondered if anyone has seen this before.

    Thanks, Greg

Turn your temp knob one click clockwise. You're on the MAX setting where everything kicks into overdrive.

Welcome to TW. The 2009 and 2010 trucks have some new logic in the A/C system. Some of it is designed to minimize fogging. However, I have not heard of your situation before.

EDIT: Btkicker is correct, if your Air mixer switch is on Max A/C you will not be able to disable the A/C compressor.

Thanks. I did have it set to Max AC. I appreciate the prompt answers.

If I have it selected to max AC and turn off recirculate, or move it one click clockwise, is this the same AC temp, or does the one click clockwise make it warmer.

Same temp (ie ZERO heater core air will be used), it just turns off the REC if you had it on MAX.

^TY, I will continue to be lazy and not go the extra click and turn off recirc if I want fresh cold air.

This is truly amazing. It works like a charm. I bought my 2015 Taco Dec 18. I keep the AC on pretty much year round for the defogging. I’m in NJ. While I didn’t have an issue with the ac not turning off previously it just started now. This little trick works!
