throw out bearing

I have an 08 SR6. At 25000 miles I had the TO bearing replaced. everything seemed ok. Now 25000 miles later the chirping noise is back. Is this a common problem? What should I do? It's out of regular warranty. I think this may be covered under the powertrain warranty.

 

did the chirping noise start after it was warm and when... you have foot on brake and in drive or revese???

Yes it's normal. All 6speeds will get a squeaky throwout bearing. The problem is other than PDM (an aftermarket company) Toyota has not come up with a solution, they just keep replacing it with the same defective part.

Mine has been squeaky since the day I bought it (42k miles) and I have about 83k now and it still squeaks. Personally I think it's just an annoyance. People on here scream bloody murder and make a big fuss about it, but I have yet to see anyone have a catastrophic failure of the bearing.

i only hear it when my windows are down so by simply leaving the windows up solves my problem

 

sounds like your little problem is quite different than mine,with my truck i get a weird rattle when foot is on brake and in drive or reverse, only after warmed up, your truck is newer than mine and obviously a throw out bearing, two different scenarios i beleive, best of luck

 

It happens about 5 minutes after i start it cold. It happens in gear or in neutral when the clutch is NOT engaged. I called the dealer, they said bring it in. It may only need lubrication. That is what I think they did the first, I thought they replaced it. Should I I tell them I want it replaced and not lubricated or will they just do what they want.

 

all you need is a good exhaust put on, and new speakers. Thatll fix the chirping!

 

nothing is ever perfect in life, my truck looks great, drives straight and i think i will just turn up the satellite radio and not put my foot on brake, that way my noise is gone LOL, problem fixed!

 

I think I'll take your advice.
