SERVICE REQ"D LIGHT

last week, at 25,500 miles, this little orange light starts blinking upon startup. i imaging this means my local dealer would like to get some of my money. like most of you, i do the maintenance. oil, filter, trans lube & diff lube were all done by me at 24,930, because i use premium synthetic stuff. how do we get around this? i know the dealers are not going to reset the light for us in their service drive.

 

Hold the trip reset and turn key to on without starting hold until light stops blinking about 5 sec. Should be in manual.

Yeah that service light us just to remind you about changing your oil. I think it goes off around every 4,500 miles or something like that cause the service manual says to change our oil every 5K. Just reset it every time after an oil change.

 

Sitting in walmart parking lot and this happened.... Took me less than 3 minutes to grab my phone, search the site for this issue, and fix.
