Is the 2nd Gen brake pedal mechanically attached to the brakes ?

As stated , is the brake pedal attached via a mechanical connection to the braking system or is it a fly by wire set up like the accelerator ?

 

It's attached. Pump the brakes while your truck is off, the pedal will get stiff, that is the brakes losing the vacuum boost. Can't get that with a fly by wire.

I would hope Toyota never goes fly by wire brakes

I'm a tech at Lexus. Everything is starting to be controlled by wire. In the Lexus CT200h, the gear shift only has R-N-D. Park is controlled by a button. It's funny watching someone drive one for the first time.

 

Brake pedal is connected to the master cylinder. Press the brake pedal, it moves a rod in the master cylinder that directs fluid and hydraulic pressure to each wheel.
