    Hello all...

I'm new to this forum and was happy to find one that deals only with Tacomas. I have an '06 and I have noticed (much to my annoyance) that when I coast at low speeds (around 30-35 mph) I get sudden jerky downshifts. One way around it I've discovered is to maintain slight pressure on the accelerator without speeding up too much.

Has anyone else noticed this? What have you all been able to do to correct it? The dealer says it's a normal function of the new 5 speed auto based on speeds and throttle positions. I had an '03 with the 4 speed auto that didn't do this. This is supposed to be progress, huh?

It is normal funtion of that trans, from what I've read on other forums. From what has been said it mimicks the manual with downshifting.
