My step-son bought the new Kinect for Xbox 360. It's pretty cool. The only games we have for it right now are the "Your Shape: Fitness Evolved" and "Dance Central". I think there's one other but I can't remember if it came with the unit or if it's a separate game.

There is some lag on some games but I think it's more how the game designer interfaces with the unit rather than the unit itself. For example, Dance Central works pretty well and it tracks your movements well. The menu system also works great. For Fitness Evolved, the menu is a little more clunky to use.

You need a decent sized space to work with it (about 6-10 feet from the unit).

It's good family entertainment. Dance Central has a section where you freestyle at the end. The unit then snaps pictures of you and shows them in a quick slideshow so you can see how dorky you look. Dance Central is like hip-hop style dancing where you mimic what the person is doing on the screen. It highlights body parts on the mimic so you can see what you're doing wrong. We like doing the dance challenge where multiple players compete.

One that might be cool that isn't out yet is Star Wars Kinect. It'll depend on how responsive it is to movements.

yeah I bought this for my girlfriends birthday. Ten minutes into it my xbox tok a dump on me for the fourth time this year. Microsoft is finally sending me a brand new xbox instead of some POS refurbed one.

We have the fitness one and the adventure one. I want to get the sports one.

A friend of mine picked one up last weekend... I checked it out! The kinect really really needs a ton of light to track your movements with minimal lag... actually we hooked up a couple extra lights in the living room and didn't notice any lag after. I'm going to have to add this to my 360, maybe Santa will bring me one!

the concept of motion cotrol is cool and all, but id rather just go outside and do something if i wanna exercise or be active. when i play video games i just wanna sit my fat ass on a big comfy couch and my thumbs are the only part of my body that are movin

What's the point of having a staff, if your "attacks" are only 2 feet from your body. May as well have a dagger.

That video never gets old, though.
