This is pretty cool. It's a low-cost 3d printer that you can build yourself. Then you download designs off the web and print out abs parts. The machine's pieces are downloadable as well so once you have yours built, you can print out parts for someone else to build a printer. Total cost for the machine is 500 Euros. All the software to design, I believe, is open source.
