Getting an Ipad

Well I have read a few things online saying that the Ipad 2 will be coming out in the near future. If that is the case I will wait for the price drip on the current version and get it, since it already seems perfect. What does everyone think that owns an Ipad...is this a good move? What size should I get? I am thinking 16GB I will mainly be using it to serf the web and put a few movies on for the GF to watch while driving. I have Netflix for when I am around the house. I will only be getting the WIFI ready one. Not the one with the plan.

I think you will love it and the 16gig should be suffiecient for your needs.

 

The wifie got me a $1K gift Apple store gift card for my birthday last fall, and I have been holding off for the second gen, which is right around the corner. I'm going wifi as well, as I don't need another freakin' monthly bill. I think you should set up a group buy for them!

Yea the Ipad is the only thing I want, I am not interested in anything Android. Android is not even comparable to apple as of now. How big are movies? For instance I bought Iron man 2 the other day and it came with a digital copy for your Ipad or Ipod and I am curious the kind of space it will take up!

Love my iPad. I've got a 16gb wifi model that I got on release day last year. It's so much more convenient than packing around a laptop. I use it 90% of the time instead of the laptop.

I also did a simple jailbreak on it, and picked up a Holux M1000 GPS receiver so I can use the iPad as a giant GPS, which works great. Watch Netflix on it all the time, which is also great.

BTW, there seems to be some misconception that you have to sign a new contract if you get a 3G model, and I don't believe that's the case. I think you can buy 3G service a month at a time if you want.

bought the wife one for her birthday, she loves it...and I love it just as much hahaha...hers is mostly filled with music and most movies I have ripped from my collection are under a gig each. i believe their wifi plan isnt a contract based one and you can turn it on and off at will (didn't need it, didnt get it)

 

I have a 32GB and it's never more than 1/2 full. Your gonna LOVE Netflix on it!!!

 

yeah, owned Mac's since my first computer in 91. Currently have 2 laptops and a Mac Mini. Use PC for my work laptop. I could bad mouth it but I won't. Drooled when the first Ipad came out but opted to wait. Almost bought one last fall then the rumors hit. I can wait another 2 months for the Ipad 2 and then upgrade when the Iphone5 hits the streets too.
Can't get enough of Mac. Pay more. Ok. Oldest laptop is powerbook g4. Got it for the daughter when she went to college in 96. Still runs like a top but man that girl sure abused the outside case. Barely together but hey, it still runs with no hitch.

 

Yea, unless the Ipad 2 is just brilliant, I will be getting the current version when the price drops!

 

I got a 16gig at Christmas , I dig it.

 

I love it, I have the 16 gb wifi. Very fast!

 

I picked one up for my self for Sandy Claws, love it, I've got the 16gb wifi also. I mainly use if for surfing, when my wifes' on the laptop, and playing games at work and digging on some tunes.

I knew it was one or the other. That Engadget article had a pretty cool pic of the current screen resolution, and the estimated new. Can't wait!
