Netbook ??

I'm looking at getting one, not sure what to get? I would like one that can use a cell phone to connect with if needed. I'm turning to TW for advice.

What are you looking to do with it and how big do you want the screen to be, 10" 11"?

A lot of them have either 1 or 2 gigs RAM anywhere from 80Gb to 300Gb HDD. Most will have your web friendly devices, camera, mic etc.

Any Budget in mind?

 

I'm going to use it at work for viewing TW Also I will use it when i travel. My 17 in laptop is a bit large for that. All in all basiclly for just messing around surfing the web and email. I think I want to get the 2gig ram. Price around $400.00 screen size 10.1 or 11. Best i can get to meet my needs

 

You're going to see a lot more options on the 11". I don't know if you're going to watch movies or anything like that when you travel, but some 11" netbooks come with hd capability and some with hdmi output. There are only a few 10" netbooks I know of that are hd capable, that Samsung you posted, and the ASUS 1005pr, are a couple, and you'd be hard pressed to find one that's hd with hdmi out.

The Samsung you posted will be more than capable of covering the needs you posted. Just about any netbook will browse the web/email and so on. That particular netbook will let you watch movies in 720p with decent sound. You don't need to spend that much for what you're looking for, but if you want to not have to upgrade for a while and like the thought of a mini hd movie travel player, then go for it. If you want the 2GB of RAM, they're very easy to swap out, and the 250GB Hard Drive is on the large side for a netbook too. Good choice.

 

I will sell u my dell mini 10 I bought last summer and never use. Doesn't have the cell connect thought just wifi lol

 

Looks like that Samsung is the size of an 11" with a 10" screen.

Yeah I saw that... they should make it an 11. I prolly should also get dual core. Man not sure what the best bet would be. I would hat to drop the coin a be disappointed. Thanks for the help

 

If you are getting a new cell phone, you might look at the Motorola Atrix (AT&T). You can get it with a laptop dock ($500 for the phone and laptop dock with contract). It's a Dual-Core Android phone.

I've read somewhere that it also has a Citrix client so you can run a home PC while on the road with it.
