So I have been using hughes net for a little over two years now and hate it for everything it is worth!!!! There is no other provider in my area, so I am screwed!! My cell phone surfs the web twice as fast as my computers at home. Anyway I have called them like a hundred times or more and they always tell me that there is nothing wrong..... maybe so many people are online making everyone have slow speeds!! By the way they are very hard to understand, as english is obviously not their first language!!! Thats what I pay 70 bucks a month for!!!!! So I go to this speed test website and it says my download speed is .15 Mbps and upload is .04 Mbps. I looked and I am paying for 1.0 Mbps download and 200Kbps upload. Does anyone know what I can do to help this??? Every time I have called them I have told them that my old dial up internet was faster, and alot cheaper, but tonight it is extreamly slow, 45 mins and counting to watch a 9 min video, only about 6 mins into it!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Hughes net is satellite internet. It is faster at times, but it is also slower than dial up at times.

If you live where there's no cable or phone lines. You really don't have many choices. I had it for 3 years, it was good for me.

If your cell phone is faster, can you set it up as a mobile hotspot? If so, tether to it and drop the $70/month Hughes.net.
