Give it a week, I bet they'll release an update that addresses issues with Maps.

Error message is gone after downloading the latest iTunes. Checked out some of the new features this weekend. The maps thing is ok, really like the "Panorama" in the camera/options. Playing around Siri and I told it that it wasn't very smart and her replay was,"I am sorry, just trying to help." Doh!

Jay238, try set up your iphone as a new iphone, and don't use the back up.

as long as you use outlook for your default email, it will save everything on the contact, and even you set it up as a new iphone, it will copy all contact list from your outlook to the phone.

    Just getting started.
Go to settings on your phone then general then software update. You do not need to do it through iTunes just need a wifi connection and phone plugged into power source.

Hmm so what did you do OP? I'm having the exact same issue, but I'm running the original OS on my Macbook pro from a few years back. It says its Mac OS X version 10.5.8. It wont let me update my itunes, or even restore my phone. (its a jailbroken 4S so i can't even update straight from the phone). I also tried to update the OS on the computer but it says theres no available updates compatible for my laptop

Theres also alot of cool things i have on my jailbroken phone(unlimited pandora skips, wifi hotspot, black keyboard, 5 rows of apps, and some free apps) so is the update really worth all the trouble?

I'm probably gonna take it to apple and see what they say since theres so many update issues lol. Thanks!

I updated a 4S & Mac laptop with new O/S and so far no problems ... also up loading it on iCloud (which seems to help a little ironing out bugs).

    Battery life is OK too.

Well my issue happened after I updated to iOS 6 so I'm not sure how to get you to that point, to update itunes I posted a link back a page that lets you update to an in-between version of iTunes that is compatible with iOS 6.

Here's where to find the iTunes version that works with OSX 10.5.8

(10.6.3 is what you will need)
