Are you trying to scan from the printer or from the computer?

I'm no IT guy, but did you try activating scan to computer? Or did your ip address change?

Do you have a shortcut to your printer on your computer?

Does your printer have a help or diagnostics menu? If so you could try diagnosing connectivity problems.

    .
My HP all in one does that too, it says 'no scan options' if there is a printer/scan software suite on your computer from brother and it has an option to scan docs, try doing it from there instead of trying it from the printer. If that doesn't work, next I would power down the printer and turn it back on again, see if the printer shows the connection, if that doesn't work then removing the printer software from your computer and reloading it usually fixes these kinds of problems.

On your computer somewhere has to be a program for the printer. I'd try opening it up and seeing if it has a scan option. Thats how I have to do it at work.

An easier way may just be to search "scanner" in your start menu and see what comes up

    i got it working
i uninstalled and re installed the driver package and i can at least hit scan from the computer and it will now work
still working on the press scan option from printer...as this saves the trouble of going all the way to the other room after to load whats needed to be scanned and then going to comp to scan it and so forth....
    some is better then none
    thanks guys

One last thought is that generally any program that is TWAIN compliant can pick up the scan. In the past I've set up my scanner to scan directly to Photoshop and other compliant applications without going through the cumbersome Brother All-In-One software.
