Now the problem is my old mouse was acting up so what I did was I bought several different type of mouse brand new and corded. It says they have the installed hardware and is ready for use, but every single one doesnt even move the cursor at all. Can anyone help me and tell me what the problem and fix it. Yes i restarted the comp too after with each one.

I wonder if you may have deactivated the usb ports. Maybe go into properties of the computer and look for USB.

Computer mice shouldn't need any special drivers to work. Even if it has extra special function buttons, the standard functions should still work out of the box. Check your BIOS. You should have an option called "Legacy USB Support" or similar. Change it to "Auto" if it's not set to that.

BIOS stands for "basic input output system"... basically this is responsible for configuring your computer's onboard hardware (your disk drives, power, boot order, ports, etc.) The BIOS runs everytime your start your PC or restart it, ..it runs prior to the OS (operating system; Windows, etc.) loading...

you can enter your BIOS as your computer goes through a startup or restart, ...usually, when this occurs, you'll see a black screen w/ a generic looking logo, that appears for a few seconds before your OS starts loading... This is the window of opportunity for you to enter the BIOS if you want to make changes to the hardware configuration/behavior...

to enter your BIOS, you generally need to hit a certain key during this period before the OS loads... the key depends on the motherboard manufacture, i believe, ...but in most cases it's <F2> key... be careful if you make changes in there, ...if you do you have to make sure they get "saved", and then have it reboot... when it reboots, let the OS load up, and it should be running under the updated configuration...
