When you have installed windows xp and try to activate you get messages like “your product key is not genuine or the number of activation has been exceeded” and then it tells you to call Microsoft to get the key, Instead of Going to this trouble, or instead of spending Hundred of dollars, to get a new genuine product, let us solve this problem by following:

    STEPS:-

    • Click on Start

    • Find and Click “Run”
    • Type regedit
    • Click the plus next to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE”
    • Click the plus next to “SOFTWARE”
    • Click the plus next to “Microsoft”
    • Click the plus next to “Windows NT”
    • Click the plus next to “CurrentVersion”
    • Click “WPAEvents”
    • On the right panel, find “OOBETimer” then double click it.
    • Now, Delete all the Values by highlighting it, then delete it
    • Then type in this value without the quotation mark “FF D5 71 D6 8B 6A 8D 6F D5 33 93 FD”
    • Then after that click OK,
    • Then on the left panel right click WPAEvents, then click on permissions
    • Then click System or SYSTEM, then Deny Full Control, then Click OK.
    • Then Exit Registry Editor by Click the X or the red X on the Upper Right of the Title Bar or press ALT and F4 at the same time.
    • To Verify that it works, go to start, then “activate windows”, or go to start, then all programs, then “activate windows”
    • If it says that Windows has been activated.

Use at your own risk. I have not tried this yet. But the users on the bottom of the web page said it worked for them.

I will probably have to use this in a few weeks. My PC died & I'm going to build another one.

How is it not legal? If you paid for the software & over time upgraded your PC & used your 3 installs. Then your hd fails & you need to install it again. Then install it, but it wants you to buy another install. There is nothing wrong with resetting the counter. Basically that is all this does. It isn't pirating software. You have a product key.

Yeah i dont think this way works very well. If you look at some of the comments on the link they say after 30 days you will be locked out and will not be able to use it again. So if i was you i wouldnt use it.

Because it will work for pirated software, which isn't legal.

That is probably because they did not enter their registration key.

It isn't legal because people are going to use it for downloaded copies. The phone activation process takes less time than going through the registry and the fact that 99% of computer users never seen the registry before will cause nothing but issues.

I'm surprised TW sticked this thread to be honest. As anal as M$ is, I am sure in the future TW will receive a notice.
