How do I view my IP address again?

    I can't remember where I found it the first time, but I want to view my IPaddress and can't find it.:confused: I feel like a idiot now.:mad:

    ARRRGGHH! it opens then dissappears in 1/10th of a second or so

    Just kidding, are you typing it directly in to you're "run" window, or whatever?
    Don't, Type "CMD" in to run, then it will open up a window that you can type "ipconfig" in....

    There's also a lot of sites online that will tell you you're IP (Ipchicken I bleive)

    if you have a router at home (linksys, netgear, dlink, etc) then ipconfig will only tell you your ip within your home network. i'd use www.dslreports.com/ip to get your Internet facing IP address

    Thanks, both of ya. I programmed apple 2c in high school in the 80s, now I feel Im too dependant on GUI such. I think this is the first time I went to the command prompt area on a windows system.

    all this because of Otter having a picketing penguine telling me that data, next i fear someone will have a cartoon weasel telling me my credit card #s.:eek:

    somone on the forum has a signiture with a penguin holding a sign, it told me the IP and provider... since it looked like min I had to verify it for the hell of it. It became a lesson on computers. and yes a penguin .... and no I wasnt drinking lol

    Your Ip is easy to track by the way unless you have one that changes in cycles anyone can really find it.. Every time you go to a web site they have your ip. OMG everyone run to the hills!!

    yea, otter has it, i'm assuming it only shows me mine, or is it showing all of you mine?? thats the question.I suspect it's harmless , but I do a lot of suspecting.

    TodayWas the first time i noticed the thing , then the IP looked familiiar... I never look at my IP though.... was one of those "what the.." moments hehe
