17" Mac powerbook - how to keep cool?

    You can call the 800 Apple support number and they'll ship you a box to ship it in for repairs. They have quick turn around but you might be without it for a week depending on what the issue is. The Apple Store folks at the Genius bar have diagnostic software they can run. Have them run that first versus mucking around in the OS. Mine failed within the first minute and identified the hardware problem.

    Like I said, once they fixed the sensor and the other part life has been good ever since. It did what your's is doing so my guess it's the same issue.
