I have had my isp for about 5 years.. and every once in a while I have a modem lease charge show up. I call and 20 to 30 min. go by, then go thru the same process of telling them I own the cable modem router. ok they refund the 9.99 but then 2 or 3 bills later, its on there again.
the original paperwork has a different mac address, but crossed out, for some cable modem they said they installed. why would anyone rent a cable modem ? any tips or tricks for that old mac address?
