I'm not trying to burst your bubble or anything, because i do think yoiu can get it done relatively inexpensively, but it'll be hard to do cheaply, while maintaining a reliable, durable vehicle.

I bet you that rolling chasis they finished up the episode with has $15k+ in just parts, not including the initial cost of the doner, or the 8 hour polish/port job jesse talked about on the manifold.

everyone thinks about the big focal points, like lockers and gears, new tires, etc......

but most people don't think about all of the rebuild kits, the new axle shafts, the upgraded steering components leaf springs (or links) and shocks, etc. the "small" stuff can add up to as much as or more than the "big" stuff.

and that's assuming you already have all of the tools and have acounted for the $1000+ you'll easily spend on consumables for a project of that scale

thanks for the link! i'll wait an see if he goes down at all, sincce he's got the tires in that price, that i don't need.

same thing with a colormatched grill :anonymous:

    oh wow haha.

My sister did that exact thing when she filed for divorce last year. It works very well in your favor when you have that kind of evidence against a dead beat, unfit parent. :D
