Hey Colin, think you could pull off some side rails like this off for the taco? I've got an email in too ARB to see if I can buy the front clamps. I'd have to weld posts onto my sliders to accept the back end of the rail.

My one concern is how much the ARB moves up front while driving. I know that's how much the frame is moving around, so maybe since the sliders and bumpers are both mounted to the frame the differential movement will be minimal.

Thoughts?

i could definitely do something like that. just need a place that's not an apartment parking lot to do it at.

I haven't seen a 2nd gen with them yet. I know they won't take a ton of abuse due to their length, but they'll help. Not to mention I won't mind putting a fender into the jackass that's cutting into my lane either.

 

Or somone who parks like an asshole.

I had an idea like this at one point, and I also didn't like the length of them, one good hit and they would bend in. So I planned on using a hole saw in the fender and running a gusset to the frame over the fender well.. sounds crazy but I think it would withstand a whole heap of shit.

Yes, they'll bend, but if you're hitting that area hard enough to bend the bar imagine what your fender would look like without it. I'm thinking these are going to get the most use when squeezing through tight areas.

I was thinking more of something like these jews have. So the tube fender would go under our fender for more protection.
