Damn dude :( I'm glad you're okay and back on two wheels after that. The 749 is one of the sexier models Duc has had IMHO.

Honda makes a bulletproof bike. I'm a fanboy for good reason.

    Strap it to your hood.

I was all set to buy the rear bumper with the tire gate but I carry items that are longer than the bed and have to have the tailgate down. I don't know how the gate would work in that situation.

If I could find a baja rack tomorrow I'd buy it. I don't think that will happen though. The closest vendor for baja rack is in Round Rock and they're an FJ shop.

I'm just out of luck, oh well.

My gate would come off somewhat easily. Undo a few bolts to take off the spindle cap and then slide it off. It's just big and bulky so I leave it like it is.

holy shit - i've spent the better part of last night and today reading this guys thread. not only are his pictures awesome, but his writing style and introspection are inspiring and amazing!

I took an 8000 mile roadie in my Taco before I came out here, and with this as motivation, have started the plans for my westward trip, which kinda sorta had been planned. while i don't have 6 months to dedicate upon my return, or a job (clearly a very lucrative one at that) that will let me telecommute, I think a solid 6-8 weeks could be expected! Hopefully I learn from my mistakes on the first road trip - more stops, more pics, more memories... less Canadian police threatening DWI.....

I might buy the book just to set on my coffee table, or by the toilet...

yeah, i keep hearing about all of this rain stuff, and the only thing falling from the sky out here is the occasional mortar and a lot of sand. i hate this f*cking country. how it was a skiing resort in the 60s and 70s is beyond me.
