TEXAS MEET FEB 21st

It looks like I will be there. I am bringing my wife. I am hoping she can take some pics of my truck in action.
After Boulder Creek I am going to Austin to have dinner with some family.

 

Lets set a target time of 10 for everyone to be here by. If you want to come earlier thats fine Im usually up by 6am anyway.

And lets decide what to do for lunch. Yall just want to bring a lunch to eat at boulder creek? Its about 17 miles back to the house so I figure if we pack lunches we have more time on the trails.

 

Packing a lunch would be more fun.

I'd love too, but inlaws are here to help move. Granted, that should be even MORE a reason to come, but I promised her dad we'd go golfing that morning.

 

Hmmm.......maybe the following week then when I'm moving in all the big stuff.

There WILL be a bbq once I get settled in.

LOL - you just keep inching closer and closer to Austin. Soon, we can throw the Texas Meets at your place on the other side.

 

Most of the land in our area is private owned. We dont have big stretches of public land out here in the hill country. So you have to pay someone to let you drive on their property. Just the way it is. Id much rather pay than get shot if you know what I mean.

 

Hell, there's no guarantee that we won't get shot anyway. This IS Texas, afterall.

That kinda proves my point. LBJ is just his ranch that has been turned into a national park. And the San Antonio mission trail is a tour of historic missions in the area. Big thicket probably has some trails but too far for me to worry about. Everything else is way to far from central Texas. Now on the way to boulder creek from my house we will pass through the Balcones Canyon Lands preserve. But it is strictly off limits to motorized vehicles. They dont even want bicycles out there and if you are caught off of a marked hiking trail you better have a damn good reason.

 

Does anyone know how much it cost to wheel at Boulder Creek? I looked on the website but didn't see it.
Are there trails tame enough for a prerunner?

Looks like $25 for the driver and $15 per passenger. And from what I can tell on the trail maps looks like plenty of Level 1-2. I have a stock pre runner so I will more than likely be sticking to these trails my self.

Just a friendly tip for those of you coming out. When you come through Liberty Hill please watch your speed. I was looking in the local paper today and in the month of Jan Liberty Hill police wrote 605 tickets. So just watch out when you come through town I believe the limit on 29 is 55mph and on cr1869 before you get out of town it is 30 mph.

 

Is this poll correct? Or have you gotten more RSVP's personally drifter? It seems awfully low attendance.

 

There would be more if you could make it. Dosent matter to me if only 1 person shows I plan on having a good time regardless.
