Any DFW Tacos with 6" Lifts...

I'm new to TW, and I recently purchased a 2014 TRD Sport 4x4 DC and I'm planning on either doing a 3" lift/level or 6" Lift with 315/70/17's. Here's my dilemma: This is my daily driver, so most of the driving will be on pavement with the occasional off-roading. I'm riding the fence on going with the 6" lift. I've seen plenty of pics of great looking and functional Tacos with this level of lift. I would like to see one in person to judge whether or not I want to go with 6" vs 3". The work to my truck is scheduled for Monday of next week, so if there are any get togethers, or if someone would be willing to show me their truck or point me to where I can see one in person, before next week, I would greatly appreciate it. Just want to see the height relative to myself. Let me know what ya'll think.

not many meets in dfw or that i know of and to be honest i dont think the DFW guys have a 6"

X2 first time I've seen his truck since the DB lift and 35's. I was impressed with it as well.

OP if your wanting to keep Mpgs don't get 35's. And IMHO a 6 inch lift needs 35's to look 'right'.

I had a 3 inch lift, but I already had in my head before I bought the truck, that I was going to do 6. So the 3 inch I got because I fallowed everyone else, not just in tw but other forums as well. I dont wheel much and try not to drive to far. But im changing my gear ratio this month hopefully. Thats should help with some gas. As far as height goes....3 inch lifts looks pretty big if you never seen a 6 inch lift. And 6 looks like a monster compared to a 3. Im about 5'7? And the top of the bed comes up to my shoulders if that helps

I agree about the 35's and not all that concerned about mpg. I'm thinking maybe start off with the 3" and go to 6" later on? With a 3" what tire size? Forgive the stupid question, I imagine its been covered half a million times or more.

that seems like a waste of money unless your trying to figure if you like the 3" enough to keep. you can run 265's with no trimming but most guys run 285's with a little trimming of the inner fender and a cab mount chop.

Cheapest 3 inch lift is spacers and add a leaf. Also easy to install. The add a leaf will stay on for the 6 inch as well. So either way its going to have the add an leaf unless you put out a little more for a leaf pack.

But 3 inch can run 265 to 305, all depends on how much you want to trim amd the offset of the rims. 6 inch can run 33 or 35. But 33s looks like 265 on a 3 inch lift. Its just a tad small for it, but it can be and has been done

I'd be interested in seeing a pic or the build of your truck. I'm 6'2" but can imagine if the top of the bed reaches your shoulders, that's a pretty substantial difference between stock and/or 3". If I go with the 6", I may have to invest in a bunch of new pairs of pants from splitting them getting into it.

I got a quote on Saturday for a 6" Procomp lift kit, 315/70/17 BFG A/T's, etc. How's the ride quality with the 6" lift?

If you go with 6" lift and 35s it would really be best to regear so factor in that cost as well.
3" lift look great and actually get more clearance since it is not a drop bracket lift. 32 or 33 tire look good. Size choice is normally 265/75/16, 265/70/17 for 32. 285/75/16, 255/85/16 or 285/70/17 for a 33" tire. I am running the 255 right now but have plans to run a 275/70/17 (32.4) as soon as tires get here this week.
After that I say the 6" looks good but 3 gives larger tire options, cheaper tires, cheaper lift, less labor and easier to return to stock if desired. Plus you can get away with not having to regear on a 33. My vote is for a quality 3" lift with upgraded shocks and springs.

This might be true to a point, but I like the six for the height. The 3 inch height wasnt looking all to great after a while.
The drop bracket does take 2 inches for clearance but the 35s make up for it. Once I get regeared, the next step might be to stuff 37s! Lol I did everything a 3 inch was able to do saturday and some. Could also be the mud grapplers!

Eh, I get about the same mph with 35 and with 33. My first 3 inch lift was only 300 bucks. My second one 3 inch lift used was 2300. And my six inch lift new was 2000. So depends on what cheaper is to you.
Also my tires went from 305, to 285, to 265 amd I got the se mph with all. 6 inch lifts can run 33s to"save" on mph

Cost, obviously seems to be a big factor in swaying people's preference.

If Cost/Money were not a factor, let's say the 3" and 6" were the same price...Which would you go with and why?

I'd say it's a preference. Me personally, I think a 2-3" is perfect.
