    Check the TTORA Garage Section....
For you Toyota truck owners that is a member of TTORA, Tacoma World or and others... And like to off-road, wrench, kick tires, eat and just talk. You may not know, but I accepted to be the South Central-TTORA Regional Director of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and of course the GREAT STATE OF TEXAS!
I want to ask people about TTORA, and what can be made better to increase membership, make our events better, etc.

So if you have some time to spare, click onto this survey I made.
There are 10 questions.... Please be honest.
    Thanks all!

I'd like to add that the Mall crawlers and those who previously/currently talk crap about those with 4x4 need not bother.

Does working 7 days a week, and not having a day off to attend these wheeling/meets count me as a mall crawler?

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock

Nate, I applaud your effort and congrats on the new gig... I think the hardest thing that you're going to face while increasing membership is the perception of TTORA as a place where you get your head cut off for asking a question (either dumb or unsearched). It's not as bad as Pirate, but it isn't good either. In a lot of ways TW is becoming the same way so I guess it's just what happens over time.

Oh and BTW, saying things like this:

...just fuels the fire... Many TWers know how capable the truck is... ;) Best of luck to you and TTORA.

And for this reason, I like ttora. Yes its more cut throat, but it kinda weeds out the derp.

that's a good point... cutthroat isn't bad... just isn't very welcoming... :) And if you're trying to increase membership then it doesn't work.

True, but you live and you learn Lol search button is your friend, so use it. I also know most of the guys on there have created their own group inside of ttora. And they usually don't welcome outsiders to well. Unless you have more knowledge of off roading than they do. Like they say. To each thier own.

With that said, I would recommend doing more of a tw plus ttora meets vs just having more people join ttora.

We do welcome outsiders quite well actually and we've been trying to bring more members in for several years. Yes we can be cut throat but at the same time if your truck is strictly a pavement pounder and will never see anything more than the mall parking lot and if you had/have a poor attitude about 4x4's, then it's not the place for you. Those are the ones that we will weed out. It may not be a warm welcome, but we want folks who are willing to go hit some real trails and aren't afraid to take the chance of getting a small scratch.

Trying to mix the two groups it's not an easy process. Been working on that and not many takers as of yet. And the groups created inside TTORA are mostly state based and then region/city based. It's no different than here really and members here can be just as cut-throat as Pirate or anywhere else. It all boils down to each place having it's own particular mindset/purpose, and if the overall picture of the group doesn't sit well with someone then that person knows that one just isn't for them.

There's always going to be differences from group to group. TTORA is off-road based, TW is more social network based, Custom Tacos is more about looks, etc. Bottom line is you can't force anyone to do what they don't want to do.

Nathan, for a start, your survey seems to be geared towards those who are already active TTORA members. but with a link posted on TW, that may not do very much good. I'm not registered on TTORA, and tried to fill out the survey the best i could, but most peopel on here either won't take it seroiusly, or will just ignore it when they find it doesn't apply to them.

On the national board TTORA people will tell you to search before asking, just to avoid having so many threads with the same question.

If someone tells you to search on the TX TTORA site there just being a smartass
Since the search button doesn't work on it.

We gained 2 new members from this past weekends TTORA meet.

You're right about having a group within ttora, but doesn't that happen everywhere? I would say the knowledge part doesn't have anything to do with it. It's more of someone vouching for you. The Texas chapter just became really good friends. Instead of posting a meet we would just text everyone. Same thing happens here on TW. You find that circle of people and y'all become good friends.

I signed up on TW in 2011 because we wheeled with some people at Jambo and was trying to find them, after seeing the part on here about detailing I never got on after that. My first impression of TW was "Mall Crawlers".
I later found the people on TOR.
Wasn't till last year when I attended a TOR meet that I met Thomas and decided to get back on here. Soon after that Brett scheduled a meet at Shiloh. Since then I have found some close friends on here.

Its time to register! You should get the letter of acceptance in the mail in a few days!
