    Do you have a ultrasonic cleaner? If I was home I'd bring it over.

    Put those gears in one for an hour or so, with brake cleaner and they would look better than new.

    Soak those things in WD-40 until I get home. WD-40 is a great cleaner and it will penetrate into the metal.
