he's got a Springfield 1911 "competition". let me find the text with "what it's got".

"custom" - of course - dovetailed mag well, full wilson internals, wilson combat sights, wilson combat skeletonized trigger and hammer, MLGR, oh and sweet cobra prints on the grips.

talked him down to 850 from 950 just via text, but doing some research onlineskies, and honestly, unless i were a wilson combat engineer, a gunsmith, or a competition shooter, i should just go with a springfield range officer, which i've found for $125 less than his USED, CUSTOM (with no paperwork or receipts, and all work done by a buddy who, while is an FFL and CHL instructor, is not a gunsmith) 1911. the box he shows in the pics comes from an XD model, and he doesn't even have the bore brush, double mag holder, or holster that comes with the RO and up models.

i'm gonna meet up with him tomorrow and try to talk him down another 100 or so, but i highly doubt i'll get anywhere with him, so if anyone is interested, click the link that nathan posted for his number and ask him about his 1911. or his lightbar..... :anonymous:

    4 discrepancies with the pics/description.

    1) no paperwork
    2) wilson combat hammers are stainless steel (read: silver), his is black
    3) wilson combat triggers have 3 ROUND holes, much like the stock RO model, his has three oval shaped cutouts, so i know it's definitely an aftermarket.
    4) what layman can really tell the difference in WC internals v. stock? i looked up the parts and there are no discernible markings that would indicate otherwise. i think he's full of shit on his WC claim.

i've had a sig 1911 - but it was a special edition, ergo a safe queen. i want one i can drag through hellfire and brimstone and come out shooting on the other side. thought about the RO, but i'm leaning more to the milspec one, saves about 200$ and had just a spur hammer and solid trigger.

no, i had the scorpion elite 226 in 9mm but that had to go. my brother had a usp 45 (non tactical), which now sits in pops gun safe, he swapped it for the 40.

i am still kinda reluctant to get a 1911. i think i want to spend that money on full skids :anonymous:. i still haven't heard back from budbuilt OR all pro.
