There are some showers on the other end of the beach right before Isla Blanca Park.....behind Dirty Al's. There is also a small primitive camping area. You can always ask if someone rented a room to let your wife shower. I was gonna book a room for my wife but when I started looking on Monday all the Hotel pricing was outrageous......I am thinking of buying a small portable shower on Amazon. Anyways, there are a few showers at Clayton's Beach Bar but nothing private. Never seen anything out at access 5 but then again I never go through there.........

Hey, thanks for that info! Yeah I was thinking about getting a room on the island too, but the prices are pretty high.

I also saw those showers on Amazon and I showed my wife, she just told me"NO" lol

I just drove into McAllen from the DFW area and there were so many DPS and cops on 281....Probably cause of all the drug violence. I'm sure 77 is the same way, so watch your speed.

I'm bringing my camping gear, bulk water, fuel, and alcohol. Small propane grill. Couple packages of brats and buns. Camera, trunks, and TP. And most importantly...the Taco I bought a couple weeks ago. :taco:

Just off looks I prefer the BFGs. If they are good enough to hold your rig downside up they ought be good enough for the beach!

If you guys need to stock up on booze there is a Feldmans right across form the Whataburger, best prices on the island. Don't drive into town after drinking, cops get very bored. Lastly, go to the reef!

Nik, the 33 AT's will be better for the sand. And the gas mileage.
