5th Annual South Padre Island Meet 07/26/2014

I will be at the one next yr!!!

 

Any chance anybody has the location to the site you all camped at? Reason why I ask is because our church group will be camping out on the island next weekend and I am looking for a good location. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

 

Any of you all still on the beach? Couldn't make it out yesterday due to family reunion and wedding. Let me know if tacos are still bumping out there. I'm only 30 min away wouldn't mind making the drive over there. Thanks.

 

Xb81, the beach access is 5 and 6 is where you can drive on the beach and camp out.

TacomaBeast, I think most guys took off last night.

 

Thanks to EVERYONE for y'all's hospitality... Karen and I had an awesome time! I spoke to a couple in the group about meeting up at BVORR to wheel some serious trails near college station on 8/10. You will definitely need to be 4x4... If anyone wants to join the wheeling with us inTX4WD, just PM me.

 

Finally made it home. My Dad and I had a great time!! Thanks to everyone, especially InkJunky for putting this whole thing on, and JP for taking pictures! Looking forward to the quad-copter footage from 2112 as well!!!

Hey guys this alex with the red tacoma it was nice meeting you guys, as a first time tacoma owner it's good to know there's a good group of guys to join ... it was fun for having my truck less than a week I got to break her in good ... till next time ... I'll also be uploading some videos of my run to east cut and also getting to the beach! I'll post them up!

JP - It was great meeting you, you have a nice 4Runner and thanks for sharing the pics........where exactly is the area where all the drift wood was - was it San Luis Pass?

Scott - Damn man it was great to see you also........between 2112's Horinitos Tequila and your Dads Tequila Blanco. I re-lived Spring Break at SPI. Wife was like....."You're not 18 anymore!" Yeah, I was hurting the following day.

Also wanted to say that this was the first trip I have taken that I got attacked by a pet "Bengal/Cat". Man that guy was vicious, I cut 2 cuts on my fingers.

Again, thanks for meeting up guys. It was great!

The beach with all the driftwood is Sargant Beach.

nice video on san luis pass. Where about is this? Never seen dunes like that when I have gone.

 

It's all San Luis Pass... In fact, you can see the bridge in much of the video... But be warned... (I didn't know at that time) it's against the law to be up in between the dunes. I originally believed it was OK as long at you didn't get ON TOP of them or driver over vegetation. Th soft sand along the northern edge of the bridge seems to be fair game even with the constables present... BUT... They will still stop you if you are hot-dogging them. Official speed limit is 15mph.

I enjoyed this trip and enjoyed meeting everyone.
