I just purchased a grill assembly for my 09 from a member on here. I want to get the chrome part painted to match my body color. Can anyone recommend a good place in Austin?

I know this is from last year, but I have a 2012 chrome grill that I am also trying to color match (spruce mica). I live in Austin and have called about 5 paint & body shops and they all say they can't do it. I know chrome is different, but I have read plenty of posts from TW members getting it done at a shop.

Would love to know who did it for you

Any shop can spray it. Will they warranty the work? No. The chrome plastic will require a lot of prep with red scotch bright pads fallowed by adhesion promoter and then painted. It will stick good and have no problems with color matching. If a shop says they can't do it that means they don't want to do it.

You are better off spending $210 and getting the color matched grill shipped from a dealer.

Yeah I have talked to a bunch of shops and that's the answer I kept getting. Only one shop actually said they would even do it (w/o warranty) and they wanted to charge like $160!!

I found this one from Camelback Toyota which is the best deal i have found so far at $186

Unfortunately that is what it's looking like. Just sucks bc I am planning to cut out the inner grill anyway and replace with new grill/LED
