South Padre Island meet....anybody up for it?

well I think SPI is quiet bit a distance from SPI, it being on the north side of the east cut. I actually went out to SPI last weekend and there was absolutely no sea weed out there. Besides there's still a month before anything actually happens.

Hopefully the weather sticks to its ways from these days and more people gather so we can actually have a meet.

july 4at southpadre is awsome! perfect time to do this. i live in mcallen about an hour away. and yes i will bring some girls! hahaah i practically live there in the summer.. surfing, sailing,fishing, and schliterbahn waterpark! all make for an awsome tacome weekend! lemme know

I'm down...Edinburg is right around the corner and I am at SPI practically all summer.

 

I'll be on VACATION starting 5/29 thru 6/6!! The wife and I were thinking of getting a condo at SPI from 6/3 thru 6/6.

Just got back from the meet at long ranch!! im deff down for another meet!

 

I'm down, I'll definitely be down during the last week of june i'll be heading down to the valley from North Carolina to visit family...

 

yeah, no joke we need to make this happen...i have been waiting for a meet this far down south. either date is fine with me....lets make this happen!!

 

Well it looks like its gonna happen.

First thing we need to agree on is what time we'll meet up at.

Im thinking we'll meet up on the Saturday of that weekend.

As for the exact time, I'm thinking sometime in the morning, I just don't know what hour exactly would be good for every one though.

We can all wait for each other in the Port Isabel wal mart parking lot, and as soon as we get the whole bunch gathered we'll head on over to the island.

If and when we do round up and a "straggler" shows up after we split for the island well I'm sure you'll drive over and find us with out a problem on the strip or the beach.

Hey after the day is almost over since it will be a saturday we can even put on a show and cruise the strip a few times. I don't really know how that works on the Island but I'm sure it will be impressive.

....We can camp out till sunday morning if anybody is up for it.

....We can have a show and tell of decked out tacomas on saturday..

any more ideas?

I'm still kind of iffy about what hour in the morning we can meet up, or any more convenient hour for everybody...any suggestions?

I went to Padre Island this past Friday, around the Mustang Island/Bob Hall area. I can't speak for conditions a few weeks out, but there was plenty of sea weed on the beach, which forces you up into the high road when the tide is up. This is the first time we've taken the Tacoma to the beach, and I am surprised at how well it handled the soft stuff. Not once did the truck struggle.

We caught 2 Jacks, and a few whiting.
