i have a 2010 trd sport with a tow pac . The book says not to tow in D but the people at my yota dealership say to use D . plus i count 6 gears when i first ask them about this they looked at me like i was crazy but then they called back and said i was right that there is a od gear attached to the 5th gear so that makes it a 5 speed with od?????

It depends on what you towing.. I tow a 16' alum. boat with all my duck gear, no probs in D. Now the 18' fiberglass center i had it would hunt for gears in D on inclines. I towed that in 4.
