What are you towing?

What are you towing behind your Gen2 TAC?

- how much does it weight
- how does she do pulling it
- any regrets in buying a TAC

We're looking into a pop-up camper and boat and Im trying to get an idea on size, towing capabilites, etc.

 

Towing capacity is 6500lbs.

I tow a 4000lb Mastercraft regularly. No issues. Love the way it tows.

 

Thanks - the boat we're looking at is just over 5000 lbs, so we might have to hook it up for a test run.

You can see a bunch of things people tow and people usually put how much it weighs and how it handled.

 

How much over 5000lbs? Remember that you're gunna put gas in the boat and play equipment and all the other stuff we take boating. Not likely to put you over 6500 even if its at 5900lbs already but be mindful.

 

Dunn know how much but it does it fine.

 

I tow a 97 Four Winns Sundowner 205 almost every weekend in the summer. I think that with fuel and fear I'm right at about 5500lbs. You definetly know its back there. On some of the bigger hills you really slow down but nothing the 3rd gear handle. Your gas millage will suck as mine is somewhere between 9-11mpg. It does a decent job through, but I would suggest an AAL or airbags for the rear as it gives the truck a must more stable ride while towing. I guess it would all depend on how often and how far you towed. If you are towing alot of long distance trips I would probably get something bigger. If you are like me and usually make short trips with the occasional long trip, the Tacoma gets the job done.
