Yet another towing question? Need opinions

New to the forum and looking for some imput/info/opinions. I'm looking to buy a 2011 Tacoma reg cab, auto, 4x4. I will be plowing snow (small business lot and driveway) and pulling a boat. Pulling the boat is where my hang up is. I know that the truck will pull it, but at what cost. Boat weighs 2800 lbs and has trailer brakes. Terrain is relatively flat with small hills/inclines. I'm just worried about cookin' the tranny. If anybody has this combo or just an opinion, please feel free to comment.

 

2800lbs isn't and issue to worry about. It will do just fine.

 

Make sure it has the tow package and it will be rated for 6500#. Be sure to tow in 4th gear and you'll be fine. The tow pakage comes with an oil and transmission cooler. The owners manuals can be found on this site if you want to check it out prior to buying.

 

The regular cab is not rated at 6,500 lbs. It has a 4 cyl and is rated at 3,500 lbs.
