Thursday i will be towing my 4400LB 1998 land rover Discovery to its new owner about 75 miles away from me, I have a 2006 Double cab 4x4 sport with the opitional towing package. Im just getting some tips on what i should watch for, Do and or dont do while towing.

Do i stay in 4 instead of drive?

What gauges should i watch with my Ultragauge?

Is there gonna be a problem towing a 4200Lb truck on a car hauler that will weight around 2000Lb... 6200Lb is kinda pushing that 6500 max huh? it will only be for about 70 miles no more then 100 then i will have a 1990 Jeep cherokee on it which should weight significantly less.

Any tips, Tricks and advice for towing in general would be greatly apperciated, As ive never towed anything so im a little nervous about how difficult driving will be with the added trailer and weight.

    Thanks in advance guys!

just take it nice and slow around corners and what not. if you feel uncomfortable driving at highway speeds, put your hazards on and stay in the right lane. make sure all your lights are operable.

no need to rush if you feel uncomfortable, drivers can go around as long as your not causing a traffic jam lol

Not exactly the same but I recently towed a Camry on a U-Haul car dolly didn't even know it was there. Every time I looked in the rear view mirror I was startled and thought someone was tailgating me.
