I found a trailer on craigslist. It is 2000 Carson 10x7 single axle trailer with 32" sides and drop down gate in the back. It has good tires and is in good condition. The asking price is $1250, we agreed on $1000 cash.

    Is this a good deal??

I don't know about the market down there but that seems high for an 11 year old trailer. I just picked up a 2000 Loadrite 5x10 flat bed trailer for $600. It's got the pockets so I can build up sides as high as I want, no gate though. I did see lots of trailers like that one for around $800 or less when I was looking.

I have been looking around for a while now and this is the cheapest one I found which is in decent condition. The ones which are cheaper are utility trailers, which are useless to me, I need the higher sides and trailers which look like a shit...lol. If I am spending that much cash I want something which looks somewhat decent. I dont have the resources to build what i want or pockets for materials... I need something which i can use out of the box and dont have to put any money into it...

In that case, go for it! Most of the ones I was talking about are utility trailers, like you mentioned. I just plannedon building the sides myself but if you don't have the tools or time to do so, that's not a bad deal.

I have done all the hi-pro mods for a life time, since I got this truck at a great price, I will be happy with showroom new.
seems like a good deal. with the back and sides they take longer to make.
If you are going to keep it long term, get a good wire brush and some rust-olem and give it a little tough up.
look up Redneck trailer supplies orTractor supplies, and they will have any parts you will need for it at a good price.
Redneck is very big outfit at one time they were dexter axles biggest vendor
