tacoma towing

I would like to know if my 2011 tacoma dc v6 with tow package tow gulf stream visa 23 rbk.some opinion would be great.

The 25-ft Gulf Stream Visa 23RBK has a dry weight of roughly 3500-lbs, with a 370-lb hitch weight. Payload is roughly 2350-lbs. Dry weight & payload together (most important) is 5850-lbs.

Your V6 TRD Tacoma, with towing package, has a maximum towing capacity of 6500-lbs, with a 650-lb hitch weight. Models without the towing package will be less than that.

In other words, you're already pushing the total weight nearly to the limits, without consideration for vehicle occupants and related cargo. I'd suggest something a little bit lighter. Look at some of the ultra-lite 18~22-ft models. For the best towing experience (gas milage, performance, etc), try to keep the total trailer weight to about 5000-lbs or less.

I'd tow it, no problem. I wouldn't think twice about it unless I was going over mountain passes or something. 23 ft is not a really big trailer for a Tacoma and 3500 lb dry weight is no problem, load it up and go. A 27 ft and larger is a big trailer for a Tacoma.
Maybe consider renting one to try out first.

I think he should be fine. Just don't load the trailer to its max load.

Oh, the Tacoma will certainly tow that weight. However, I think he'll be less than satisfied with the performance over time (repeated travels, varying road topography and conditions, etc). My recommendation was based on the "best towing experience," not maximum capacity.

By the way, I've modified my earlier comment to include consideration for vehicle passengers and related cargo.

^^ Damn right. While increased weight adds traction to the rear tires, too much weight causes the front end to lift (a wheelie) when the pedal is to the metal.

Hell, I wish. Actually, too much weight will cause the truck to lug along like a slug (terrestrial gastropod - lol) while climbing hills or similar.

I have a 2006 Tacoma Double Cab 4x4 Short Bed, automatic V6 with Tow Package and with two adults I tow a Keystone Passport 2650BH 26ft travel trailer. The trailer weighs 4960lbs unloaded and between 5600 & 5800 lbs loaded. I use an Equal-I-zer Brand 4 point weight distribution hitch with built in sway control and a Prodigy P2 brake controller. While this is quite a load for the Tacoma at no time does it feel unsafe, sway or bounce. I tow in 4th gear and at 60 mph I'm turning 2500 rpm. At inclines I drop into 3rd gear and turn 3500 rpm. My fuel mileage takes a big hit and I get between 10.5 and 12 mpg depending on inclines and road conditions. Not the ideal tow vehicle for a trailer this size, but it does an OK job. Just take your time and don't be in a hurry! The Tacoma is a beast!
