People have done it b4, i am sure it is not good for ur truck. 2nd post http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/tow...t-you-tow.html

You are going to have to try and balance it on the trailer, so there is not too much weight on the tongue

I looked up the specs and the Bobcat S160 weighs in at 5965lbs and figure 1000lbs for the trailer. No thanks. I'm no derp.

That model weighs just under 6000 lbs add the trailer and you will definitely be overweight.

So find out the total weight of the bobcat+trailer . See if the weight is more than the truck can handle. Looks like its a heavy tow, I wouldn't do it with my mini truck.
Edit *others beat me to it*

It will be more. With the trailering package these trucks are rated for 6500 lbs.

Not a skid steer but...
http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd...ml#post1368631

Eric said that large backhoe is 6500 lbs alone, plus trailer.

I'd give it a go. If it felt too sketchy then I'd call RSC and have them come pick it up, or get a buddy with a full size to help out.

Oh yeah... guess we thought the same thing. Whoops.

Yeah though, I'd give it a shot. 25 miles isn't far. I mean not really.

I'd double check your tires though. I run an LT D tire.

Towing package is rated to 6500, but the gross combined vehicle weight is still under 12,000.

You'll hit gross combined before you hit max tow rating.

And that's with the towing package. Without tow package, you're limited to well under 5,000 and GCVWR around 8500.... that thing is going to be well over a ton above your limit.

Without the towing package, even for 25 miles, I wouldn't do it. You'll overheat the trans on the first grade.

Without trailer brakes, you'll overheat your brakes going down the first grade.

Agreed, it's not that far.

Tow the trailer with the Tacoma and have a friend drive the Bobcat.

Yeah but people are too cool for school so it will get towed by the Taco.
