NICE!!! I have been looking at R-Pods for a couple years now. How do you like it? Which model did you go with?

I'd look into at least a half ton with airbags or a 3/4 ton if you want to carry over 1000 lbs of payload + the tongue weight of that trailer regularly.

I only commented because our company deals with commercial vehicle enforcement regularly (we always comply with the rules). I'm not trying to offend you but it's not smart in Alberta to be pushing your weight limits for a lot of reasons other than just safety. In Alberta commercial vehicle enforcement now has the same powers as the sheriffs, meaning they can escort/tow you to the scale if they feel you're overweight whether or not you're a commercial vehicle. You don't want to be weighed by them and find yourself severely over weight. You won't be driving your truck for a while and you'll end up in court with up to $15,000 in fines .

They don't piss around and once you're caught they'll be watching for you, if you get caught by a local guy, for a long time.

We looked at the R-Pod as well as the trailer we bought. I couldn't bring myself to pay the 18-24 K they want for that tiny little thing in Canada. The whole time the salesman tried to remind me how easy it'd be to tow but it's ridiculously priced up here in Canada for what it is.

Definitely a unique looking unit though :)

    Howdy Neighbor-ish person;
I'd love to know more about your trailer.
    That's nice!

You're not a TLCA member are you? I didn't see you at the event in MO last month, which was near you at SMORR off road park.

3" Icon lift up front, with Dakar springs and Bilsteins out back. All Pro APex front bumper, Demello Offroad rear bumper, Hella Hella, Smitty Built sliders, Toyo AT2 285/70 17 on some Stealth Custom Series wheels, Wet Okole Covers, Leer Cap,
Nice set up. I tow my 177 R-pod with my 2006 DBLC short bed. What type of milage have you seen with your set up? I have about an extra 700 lbs of skid plates and bumpers on my truck and get less than stellar milage when towing, but love the set up regardless.

To be honest, I haven't paid attention to the mpg's because I don't want to know. Ignorance is bliss. By the way, nice truck. I think I have seen you on Instagram--LOVE your workshop. I would live in there.

What did you end up with? I think all rv's/trailers are overpriced, but I got a pretty good deal on this one, and I am enjoying it. Besides, it's hard to pass up a trailer that comes with mud tires!

Nice looking setup! I looked at the RPOD and liked it but I decided to go with a hybrid instead that had a little more room for the family and I.

No offense taken - your comments are well warranted and duly noted. They should be a good reminder to all of us to watch our loads and not take vehicle weight restrictions lightly.

FYI - I'm eyeballing a Ford Raptor to replace my Tacoma next spring / summer. Too bad Toyota wouldn't make the Tundra look more like a Tacoma then the boring looking truck it is now...

The two I tow the most in this shot. 22' powerboat, and the off road gear hauler.
only other thing I tote around is a 16' Hobie on occasion.

Jayco X17Z, it's got tent ends on the front and back that fold out to make queen beds. Basically four adults can sleep comfortably, only weighs in at 3100 dry so the Tacoma pulls it fairly well.

This is the camper I tow .My truck is a 2012 access cab Prerunner. Its 27 foot and dry weight is 5000lbs.
I have installed a extra trans cooler to the truck and a Hellwig rear sway bar.
I use a Husky weight distribution hitch. It tows pretty good but a little slow getting up to speed on the freeway. I avg about 8-12 mpg.
