So you need a big car or truck to carry a "man card"? LOL. That's funny.

I have absolutly no towing knowledge other then knowing how to drive with a trailer. I am asking this question because we might be moving to San Diego and we live in Houston. We want to keep both our cars, so will we have to drive them separately or do you think I would be able to tow our Range Rover Sport, or will I have to tow my Taco? RR Sport has a curb weight of 5700. So I would also have to factor in a trailer, which would most likely add up to more than the 6500 towing capacity of the Tacoma. But after seeing what most of you are towing, would it be possible?

And please dont hate on me, first truck.

Completly stock, TRD Sport with a towing package apparently....

Didn't take his man card away, but I continuously remind him how gay that thing looks. He can hardly fit into it. He's 6'5", but I guess it's cheap on fuel. I need a damn shoe horn to get in the frickin thing(only been in it once). Always wondered when the clowns are going to start jumping out of it. :p

Here's the camper I just bought - 2006 Trail Cruiser 21RBH. Factory UVW is listed at 2992lbs but I don't believe it. I figure with propane and a few gallons in the holding tank it's close to 3200lbs & fully loaded for a week of hunting season will be around 3800lbs. Before buying this rig I experimented by renting a 23' hybrid (dual axle & prob 3400lbs UVW) and an 18' Jayco hardside (single axle & prob 2400lb UVW) for the 600 mile round trip from ATL to my hunting lease in Western KY. Pulled the hybrid w/WD hitch & sway bars and the smaller hardside on just the ball and will say that the WD/sway bar combo made a HUGE difference. The Trail Cruiser is in between the hybrid and the Jayco in terms of weight and came with a nice WD hitch & sway bar. In terms of stability I can tell it's back there in a cross wind or when an 18 wheeler blows past, but the truck handles great with it. I use 4th when climbing a significant grade or if the tranny shifts more than once on a climb & the only thing that really suffers when pulling the trailer is MPG - but I can live with that since I'm running regular. The good thing is when I get where I'm going & unhook the trailer my MPG's go back to normal.:)
Installing a brake controller (Prodigy P2) this week and I'll be set for spring turkey season in KY and some short trips with family this summer. Hopefully will someday tow this setup out west for an extended trip to CO or Utah for mtn biking & fly fishing in the summer. Should have mentioned my truck is an 2009 TRD/Off Road DCSB 4X4 with OME 3" lift & Dakar rear leafs - makes a big difference in less tail sag.

    Looks good :)

I sold my camper last year and went back to tenting mainly for the economics of it all. Every trip out something broke or quit working sure miss having my own shower and a/c though!

Are you towing in o/d then manually shifting down to 4 when needed? On my tundra I never towed in o/d dont know about this new tacoma.

Yep, just leave it in "D" until I hit an incline or I feel it hunting. Found that the truck feels most "comfortable" pulling this load at around 60mph. Trying to hold 65 costs almost 2mpg.

Thanks for the compliment Tigahshark:). I did a lot of looking before finding this one owner setup for a pretty good deal.

Only a couple. Pretty standard RV interior, but in very good shape IMHO. Didn't include a bathroom pic - it looks like every other RV bathroom.
