    Hi Guys and Girls,
I want to buy a tacoma for towing a horse trailer and 2 horses, total weight 3500lbs. So I am looking at a V6 with tow package. Can afford about 20K to spend on it. This would be a 2006 or 2007 with about 90K miles in my area. My question is: Is that mileage too high to be safe to use for towing? I would only use it about once a week locally so wouldnt put a lot of additional miles on it..
    Thanks!

nothing wrong with towing frequently with a rig that has around 100k.

just of course keep up on the regular maintenance like fluids and brakes because they will see more wear from the frequent towing

OP - what brand horse trailer are you using? Looking for one for our two horses.

    Thanks.

3500 lbs on 2 horses and trailer? That seems light unless you are using mini horses. I pull my 2 horse trailer with my 4 cylinder, but only 1 horse at a time.

Just be prepared to add the brake controller yourself. They don't come with one, but they do have the 7 pin round harness from the factory.

I tow a three horse trailer at 2991# w/ my two horses and it does great. Get a good brake controller and remember that you are driving a different vehicle than your unloaded truck and you'll be all set with a Tacoma.

Thanks Brunes. Do you have a link to the brand and model of your trailer? Most trailer websites don't list the trailer gross trailer weight (GTW).

I have a Shadow Select 3 Horse slant load. All Alum and trailer brakes on every axle were my two requirements and this one nailed it.

I found it from a dealer in MS, where it had been slightly damaged so they were willing to deal in order to not have to send it back. And TBH, if the GTW isn't listed, that's not a dealer I'd want to buy from. Everywhere I shopped for this trailer and all the places I looked for the enclosed I wanted to buy had it pretty clearly listed cause it matters.
