Curt Mfg Hitch

Anyone have any experience with the Curt Mfg Hitch? I was looking at receiver hitches on E-Bay and they caught my eye, Any opinions or suggestions? D

 

i have one however in a different style and i love it its not an eye sore and easy to mount

 

Any reason you don't want the Uhaul? Cheapest one I could find new by far ($120 shipped)

 

nope no reason, just what i had, it came with the truck

 

I put a Curt I got from etrailer.com on my '09 Access Cab and have been very happy with it. One of the things I like is that the receiver does not stick out beyond the rear bumper to bang your shins on when the draw bar is not in it the way some others do.

 

I had a Curt hitch on my last truck... I bought it because it was the best looking hitch, and I was impressed... very easy to install, and very low profile...

 

I've installed several brands of hitches on different vehicles, and the Curt I installed on an old Mercedes was well built, and included clear instructions. No complaints!

On my 1st Gen, I just removed an old "sure-pull" installed by Uhaul many years ago by the PO, and replaced it with a Valley hitch (Amazon had the best price, especially including the free shipping). The Valley impressed me because you can install the two side brackets separately (they bolt to the main tube, instead of being welded), which made for a MUCH easier install than usual, and the bent tube portion (similar to the Curt, but unlike the Hidden Hitch or Drawtite versions) was bent just right to tuck cleanly out of the way, giving max ground clearance, max clearance around the spare tire, and a shin-friendly, visually clean look.
