Will my taco handle this? *TOWING QUESTION*

AAL's are on their way in to help with payload capacity (regardless, I have to get rid of my blocks), but I'm looking into building one of these for my area, but a little different:

As you can see I won't be loading it with a lot of weight...

Other than needing extended mirrors, can my taco handle this? Would I need brakes for the trailer too?

I have a 2006 V6 DC Tacoma Shortbed 4x4 SR-5

Non-Interstate driving, just around town from place to place. Average speed limit of 45.
