Stopping a trailer

I was wondering how the Tacoma brakes would do stopping a 3000 trailer. There are no brakes on the trailer, (No brake option under 2990lbs). This would be the max weight w/3 atv's. I usually just haul two. Thanks.

I have a similiar trailer and haul 3 quads as well. My truck is a stick shift and does Ok with it. But on a real steep decline I have to use first gear to hold back or the brakes get hot.
I do plan on putting brakes on it at some point.
My girlfriend has the same truck only on the auto and it does about the same on steep declines, the brakes get hot.
The declines are about a 12% grade so it is pretty steep, but we hual them to Oregon a lot which is about a 9hr pull and most of all the trucks do pretty good.

I carry my Boat it's around 3000 lbs down a 9% grade for three miles its fine but do use you gears.
