In search of locking hitch pin

I purchased a nice Masterlock but have discovered it does not fit. The newer Tacoma receiver is about 1/4" too wide. I do remember somebody mentioning this before but for some reason I was not able to find the thread.

Is anybody using a relatively nice locking pin that fits the yota receiver? If so, what brand(s) and where can I get it. I'm a tad gun shy now...don't want to go spreading my wealth across the www only to find out I'm collecting useless hardware.

Thanks for the help in advance.

i got a masterlock type receiver lock and it works good. i think i got mine at pepboys or autozone. take a small tape measure with you and see which one will fit correctly, thats what i had to do.

I have a 2005 with factory hitch and had the same problem. I even e-mailed and called Toyota several times about it. They didn't seem to know or understand what I was trying to explain to them, go figure. One Toyota guy actually told me to just use a slid in pin with no locking ability. I guess the crime rate in his neighborhood is pretty good. I finally bought a nice stainless one, MasterLock maybe? and then I took a steel hole cutting bit and shaved out a little of the outer layer of the hitch, mine is a "two layered" hitch frame around the pin hole. It works fine and it doesn't take out that much of the steel to actually weaken it. I've towed stuff fine with it ever since.
